Scene of the twin bomb blast that killed 181 people on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 This is a developing story Another bomb blast at about 9pm today, May 24, 2014 rocked the city of Jos, capital of Plateau State. This follows a twin car bombing that occurred in the heart of the town this week killing 181 people. Residents of Jos who spoke with The Trent say this latest blast occurred at a football viewing centre at Agwan Rukubu, close to the University of Jos. Patrons of the centre were watching the European Champions League final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid when the bomb went off. The sound of the explosion was heard in Jos South LGA, about 25 kilometres away from the scene, eye witnesses say. So true, so false: Was Toke Makinwa’s wedding ceremony just an act?

The report going viral have claimed that the wedding ceremony of media personality, Toke Makinwa and her fitness trainer beau, Maje Ayida was a fake, and it was staged for a TV reality show. Well i wouldn't say but according to the rumours, the faux wedding was conducted for a proposed TV reality show, but had to be swept under the carpet due to Maje’s refusal to go on with it. Shortly after the nuptials which took place last year, Toke had said that the wedding was a surprise and totally unplanned, which was the reason why no guests were invited. Thugs, motorists attack LASTMA officials in Lagos

Onipanu end of the Ikorodu Road.   Three people were injured on Thursday when some street  area boys, attacked officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority(LASTMA) in the Ojota end of the Ikorodu Road. PUNCH stated   that the crisis started at about 8.30am under the Ojota pedestrian bridge when some commercial bus drivers and the area boys told the LASTMA officials that they were not expected tobe in the area since some federal road marshal had claimed that the highway belonged to the Federal Government. The drivers, who were said to have claimed that LASTMA men had been extorting them, insisted that the LASTMA officials should leave. It was gathered that the argument soon degenerated into physical combat and soon the LASTMA officials were seen fleeing in different directions for safety. Jonathan leaves for South Africa for discussions on combating terrorism.

President Goodluck Jonathan will leave Abuja for Pretoria, South Africa, for high-level discussions with other African Heads of State and Government on combating terrorism. This was said by the special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, made the disclosure in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday. Abati said that the five African regions would each be represented by two heads of state and government at the talks, which would focus on collective action to effectively roll-back the scourge of terrorism in Africa. The talks, Abati said, would take place ahead of President Jacob Zuma of South Africa’s inauguration for a new term in office. He also that the Presidents expected at the talks included that of Ghana, Republic of Congo, Chad, Angola, Rwanda, South Africa, Mauritania, Algeria and Ethiopia. Till we path no more:Veteran filmmaker, Amaka Igwe to be laid to rest in June

The burial arrangements of iconic filmmaker and Nollywood stalwart, Amaka Igwe have been announced. The late Mrs. Igwe, who passed away on April 28 after a bout with Asthma, will be laid to rest on Friday, June 13th 2014 at Ndiuche Arondizuogu in Imo State. Other arrangements include a tribute evening and Lagos Service of Songs at Haven Gardens G.R.A Ikeja on the 9th of June, and Enugu Service of Songs at Okpara Square, Enugu on the 12th of June, 2014. A tribute website, www.amakaigwe.ng, has also been created in her honour and will contain goodwill messages from Facebook and Twitter. She is survived by her husband, Charles Igwe, three children, an aged mother and siblings and will forever be remembered for her contributions to the society. May her soul rest in peace.

She has been in UK’s Newham University studying Business Administration and Management Karen showed off her gorgeous engagement ring on her Instagram page at midnight. NDLEA Arrests Man With 2.605Kg Of Cocaine Packed As Candies

A 52-year old man, Onyejiaju Augustine was arrested by the Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. Onyejiaju who had been on the list of wanted drug barons was caught with 2.605 kilogrammes of cocaine packed as candies during the screening of passengers in the airport who were travelling to Etihad. This arrest was confirmed by the  NDLEA spokesperson, Michelle Ofoyeju and  Commander of the agency at the airport, Mr. Umar Hamza. The suspect had earlier departed Sao Paulo, Brazil with the disguised drugs undetected but was however apprehended by the NDLEA officials in Lagos. Speaking to news correspondents, Mr. Umar Hamza said, “We made a shocking discovery of 2.605kg of cocaine carefully and neatly packed as candies. The suspect has been arrested and currently under investigation in connection with unlawful possession of cocaine.” He also disclose...

Ongoing national conference officially extended

The leadership of the national conference ongoing in Abuja met with the secretary to the government of the federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, on Wednesday night, asking the FG to extend the conference by 6 weeks. While the FG agreed to extend the conference,  four weeks and not six weeks was granted. The conference chairman, Idris Kutigi, informed the delegates on the latest development on Thursday during the sitting of the delegates.
