Till we path no more:Veteran filmmaker, Amaka Igwe to be laid to rest in June

The burial arrangements of iconic filmmaker and Nollywood stalwart, Amaka Igwe have been announced.
The late Mrs. Igwe, who passed away on April 28 after a bout with Asthma, will be laid to rest on Friday, June 13th 2014 at Ndiuche Arondizuogu in Imo State.
Other arrangements include a tribute evening and Lagos Service of Songs at Haven Gardens G.R.A Ikeja on the 9th of June, and Enugu Service of Songs at Okpara Square, Enugu on the 12th of June, 2014.
A tribute website, www.amakaigwe.ng, has also been created in her honour and will contain goodwill messages from Facebook and Twitter.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Igwe, three children, an aged mother and siblings and will forever be remembered for her contributions to the society.
May her soul rest in peace.

PHOTO: Subsidy fraudster sentenced to 10years imprisonment.

Justice Lateefat Okunnu of the Lagos High Court Ikeja, has sentenced Walter Wagbatsoma and Adaoha Ugo-Nnadi, owners of Ontario Oil and Gas company, to 10 years in prison for fuel subsidy fraud. The duo were found guilty of obtaining the sum of N754 million by false pretense from the Federal Government purporting the money to be subsidy payable to Ontario Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited.  Delivering judgement this morning, the presiding judge ordered the accused persons and their company to refund N754 million being the amount it defrauded the Nigerian government. The judge ruled that their sentence would start counting from January 13th 2016.

NDLEA Arrests Man With 2.605Kg Of Cocaine Packed As Candies

A 52-year old man, Onyejiaju Augustine was arrested by the Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. Onyejiaju who had been on the list of wanted drug barons was caught with 2.605 kilogrammes of cocaine packed as candies during the screening of passengers in the airport who were travelling to Etihad. This arrest was confirmed by the  NDLEA spokesperson, Michelle Ofoyeju and  Commander of the agency at the airport, Mr. Umar Hamza. The suspect had earlier departed Sao Paulo, Brazil with the disguised drugs undetected but was however apprehended by the NDLEA officials in Lagos. Speaking to news correspondents, Mr. Umar Hamza said, “We made a shocking discovery of 2.605kg of cocaine carefully and neatly packed as candies.
