Photo: Jonathan gets a piece of advice from OBJ in Lagos

Image
President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday attended the funeral mass in honour of the late former Governor of Lagos, Michael Otedola and former President, Olusegun Obasanjo was there as well. When it was time for Jonathan to leave the venue, Chief Obasanjo escorted him out and the duo obviously engaged in an intense discussion as can be seen from the president’s expression. Reports have it that Obasanjo took the chance to advice the president on a matter of national security. The former president recently met with people believed to be close to the terrorist sect, Boko Haram in an attempt to secure the release of the over 200 girls who have been in captivity for 46 days. Obasanjo has however said that he cannot act without the approval of President Jonathan. See photo below:

"Double Wahala changed my life,I now charge atleast N3m to perform"-Oritse Femi

Image
No doubt Oritse Femi's "Double Wahala" is one of the biggest songs of 2014..Dbanj even jumped on a remix..Before his new found fame, he said he was almost frustrated but now he is smiling to the bank.. "I was almost frustrated because my career had over the years failed to generate the desired response from music fans. I prayed to God first for inspiration and basically retraced my steps. It was then it occurred to me that my fans actually want something dynamic for a change. Consequently, because the music we are doing is Afro hip-hop and since Fela was the king of Afro hip hop, I decided to begin by paying homage to him.Things have definitely changed. Nowadays, I don’t charge less than N3m to perform at a concert. Sometimes the concerts are funded by multinational companies and we have to tour 20 states. Multiply N3m by 20 states and you will understand what I am saying. The situation has indeed improved,” 3 million x 20=60 million..Now i see...

“You must not be afraid of going to school” – Lagos state governor advice children

Image
Lagos governor, Babatunde Fashola on Tuesday appealed to Boko Haram to release the schoolgirls abducted from their boarding school in Chibok on April 14. He made the call during the 2014 Children’s Day parade at the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos. The celebration, devoid of the usual funfair, was also used by pupils from various primary and secondary schools in the state to show solidarity with the Chibok girls. The pupils were all dressed in red vests with the inscription, “Bring Back Our Girls.” Fashola said it was unfair for the group to continue to hold the girls captive for agitations they (the girls) knew nothing about and for demands they could not meet. He urged the insurgents to leave children out of their grievances and dialogue with adults in resolving the disagreements they had with the system. In his words, “People have been asking what the people who have taken our children want, but the truth is that I do not know. But what I do know is that whatever ...

Former Italian prime minister Berlusconi had been chasing Seedorf for several months before finally ...

Ebola outbreak spreads to Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone has confirmed its first death from Ebola, with several more suspected to have succumbed to the deadly virus that swept across neighbouring Guinea earlier this year. “I can categorically confirm that the Ebola sickness has materialised,” said health ministry official Amara Jambai on Monday. “Preliminary information received from the field indicates that one laboratory-confirmed case and five community deaths have been reported from Koindu chiefdom,” the World Health Organisation said in a statement on its website. Jambai initially said four cases of Ebola fever had been identified, but later clarified that while four people had died, only one person had so far been confirmed to have had the virus, the AFP news agency reported. “Of the four deaths only one has been confirmed as dying from Ebola after two independent tests at the Kenema Laboratory Centre. The cause of death of the other three is still being investigated,” he said. More patients Jambai ...
