Be Strong

We all have something we are afraid of at one point or the other of our lives. Some of us have fear of the future, our health, our finance, our safety, our career, our academics and even viruses like Ebola. At the same time some of us are afraid of men; our boss, our friends, our siblings, our parents, our lecturers etc. Also, some are afraid to fail, to make mistakes, to step out, to voice opinions, to face the crowd etc. What is your FEAR?

Have you ever wondered why God told Joshua the same thing three (3) times in Joshua Chapter 1? Do you know God’s word to Joshua? Be Strong and Courageous.
Why should you be strong and Courageous?

  • God is with you (Joshua 1:5, 9). If God be for you, who can be against you? (Romans 8:31). That man is yet to be born. You enemies will be made your footstool forever. This is enough to give you ginger that nothing can happen to you as long as the Lord is on your side.

  • Your Enemies will be destroyed (Philippians 1:28). Being bold and courageous is a sign to your opposition that it their end and that you will be saved by God. Also see what happened in Joshua Chapter 10 and see how Joshua even had the courage to demonstrate to the Israelites what God would do for them.

  • God is the same forever (Hebrew 13:8). God is not a President that rules by tenure nor a Governor that can be impeached nor a king that dies due to old age. Nobody can dethrone God.

My pastor always say that anything that has a name has a knee that can bow to the name of Jesus. So, be strong and Courageous. Leave it in God’s hands. All you need to do is to constantly dwell in the word and you will have good success. The word is a constant reminder of who you are and what you have with God.
