WHY WAIT?

Life unfolds in spite of our impatience. The misfortune of it is that because of our impatience we don’t fully appreciate the joy and beauty of watching it unfold. And then there’s all the stress and discontentment along the way.

Waiting is inevitable, whether voluntarily or involuntarily. We wait on a lot of things everyday queuing at the filling station waiting on food while cooking; queuing at the ATM machine and so on traffic congestion is a force that actually compels people to exercise patience because you cannot drive over cars right in front of you. It is quite shocking to know that we find it more difficult to wait on things that will affect our lives. We want it sharply we want it the way we want it and we ignore other things that is attached to it patience assures us of our inheriting the promise (Hebrew 6:12)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-23

Why should we wait? God will renew our strength when we wait on him (Isaiah 40:31) Things will work in accordance for us. Patience is a cloth designed by the Holy Spirit it is contained in the wardrobe we got from God Colossians 3:12. So before we can be patient, we must be filled with the Holy Spirit and without the Holy Spirit, human is dead so you now see what PATIENCE has to do with being alive?

The period of waiting is never a period of inactivity in fact this face can be a very active phase of anyone’s life. Samuel anointed David  when he was 15 and he did not take the throne until he was 30 David spent 15 years in waiting and preparation for the throne of Israel this is because before God blesses anyone he test them over a period of time to see if they will be worthy of the blessing

Waiting is active because it involves hearing from GOD which requires praying. How many times have we noticed that whenever we rush into something without God’s approval we end up losing lots of other things both materially and spiritually?

Brethren are you under the pressure of getting married? Getting a job? Fruit of the womb?

Regardless the pressure of anything you are battling with, don’t be sober, don’t rush and never mind what friends, family will say wait unto God let him approve it.

Dear Lord, may you grant us a heart of patience as we try to use our days for your glory and honour. Allow us to be open to the day’s events realizing that we don’t have the big picture but you do. May we do the best we can with what you have entrusted to us. We are sorry for forcing our own agenda. Allow us to be open to your direction for our lives.
