Fayemi is a face of democracy in Nigeria – Jonathan’s aide

Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on youth and student matters, Comrade Jude Imagwe,  called yesterday on politicians to emulate Governor Kayode Fayemi of the Ekiti State.
The aide said by accepting the results of the last Saturday’s governorship election, Governor Fayemi won himself a place in the country’s history.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Convention Planning Committee of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Abuja, Imagwe said “Accepting defeat in a free and fair election is an act that must be emulated by all political players.”
“The Ekiti election is a reflection and determination of Mr President to have a transformed electoral process,” he said.
“Ekiti people have redefined democracy. I will say, Governor Kayode Fayemi is a face of democracy in Nigeria and I am picking Fayemi as the democracy man of the year.”
Imagwe appealed to politicians as well as aspirants in the forthcoming NANS convention in Markurdi, Benue
State to learn from Fayemi and accept defeat whenever it comes.
Earlier, the NANS President, Comrade Yinka Gbadebo, while inaugurating a 36-man Committee for the convention, charged the members on “free, fair and credible election that will usher in the next leadership of NANS.”

    This is an example for every human being it is a daily living lesson. lets all learn tp let go. because if we dont let go we wont move forward. fayemi of ekiti is just a matured man may God bless you and take you to a greater place ride on

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday attended the funeral mass in honour of the late former Governor of Lagos, Michael Otedola and former President, Olusegun Obasanjo was there as well. Robbers circulate letters of their coming to residents in Igando, Lagos

We have come to the stage where armed robbers now write to residents of their coming so they can prepare earlier and keep something for them (robbers). Residents of Onimaba, College Bus stop, Ikotun Road, Igando, Lagos have been given reasons to live in fear since last week Thursday after a letter purportedly written by armed robbers circulated their streets. The letter, numbering about 20 was typed on an A4 paper and was scattered on the streets, which was noticed by residents as they woke up on Thursday morning. The letter reads, "Be prepared, be prepared, be prepared. Our dues must be paid this festive season. Nobody can stop us as we can strike at any time. Only enough money can save your life. To be forewarned is to be fore-harmed. We don inform you people of this area. if you get ear, make you hear ooooo." A landlord who gave his name as Alhaji Lawal during an interview with Punch, said..   Riot police were out in force with several Brazilian cities in case trouble kicked off. in Rio de janeiro officers descended on copacabana beach amid reports of gunfire. Authorities were called to a densely populated area of Sao paulo after football supporters reportedly set a bus alight. Spectators inside the Mineirao stadium in Belo horizonte were in tears as a their sides succumbed to a humiliating 7-1 defeat to Germany in the world cup semi-final ending dreams of a title on home soil last night. Brazil head coach Felipe Scolari said he had experienced the worst day of his life in the wake of the result. he said i will be remembered probably because i lost 7-1, the worst defeat brazil has ever had but that was a risk i knew i was running  when i accepted this position.
