Fabregas’ performances got worse each season- Barcelona
Barcelona have explained that Cesc Fabregas got worse in each of the three seasons he spent at the club, after they agreed a deal for the midfielder with Chelsea.
Fabregas moved to Nou Camp from Arsenal after eight years in a €34million deal.
After Pep Guardiola left the club, Fabregas began to cut a frustrated figure and was constantly pulled out of matches.
“There has been a downward trend in his stats every season at the club,” the statement read.
“He slipped right back into the FCB system as if he’d never been away. But despite glowing starts to each campaign, Cesc’s contributions to the cause gradually decreased as each season drew to a close.”
In his three seasons at the club, Fabregas scored 42 times in 151 games and won the La Liga and a Copa del Rey, but Barca say they were not impressed by his steady decline.
“From being someone who joined in with the attack, supplying and scoring goals, the magic tended to fade later on in each season,” the article continued.
