The Department of State Services, DSS is set to appeal the Federal High Court’s judgement, which stipulates that the Federal Government must pay CBN ex-governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi N50 million ($300,000) in damages.
You will recall that the court ruled that the DSS broke the law when it impounded Sanusi’s international passport (if you missed this story). The judge subsequently instructed the DSS to return Sanusi’s passport, and ordered the Federal Government to pay him N50 million ($300,000) in damages as well as issue a public apology.
The DSS has declared that it will appeal this judgement. Deputy Director, Public Relations of DSS, Marilyn Ogar, has confirmed this decision, Vanguard reports.
